The main programmatic activity of HOHF is to leverage resources from diverse funding sources to establish state-of-the-art dialysis centers in Nigeria. In realizing this important objective, HOHF collaborates with other US-based charitable organizations interested in impacting the lives of CKD sufferers in Nigeria and a select number of state governments in the country to address the renal care needs of the poor and vulnerable in society.
HOHF embarks on outreach activities to rural communities in Nigeria. It offers services that include, but not limited to, free counseling, preventive health screenings, and provision of medical equipment supplies.
HOHF actively promotes health and wellness through public awareness and education in the entire project. The purpose is to increase the level of awareness of renal disease among the population and general practitioners for early detection and diagnosis of CKD, leading to prevention or delay in the onset of kidney failure.
HOHF actively promotes the importance of educating policymakers both in the United States and abroad on the need to address the rising incidence of CKD that is posing a significant public health challenge for the citizens' health and wellbeing of the citizens.
