At HOHF, we assist people with physical, psychological, mental and social challenges within our community and abroad by providing counseling and addressing their health care needs. Over the past couple of years, HOHF had conducted medical missions and outreach programs in many states in Nigeria, to assist the poor and underprivileged segments of the society who are suffering from chronic health challenges such as chronic liver disease (CKD) and chronic kidney disease (CKD).
HOHF has been advocating the establishment of free dialysis centers in Nigeria, to serve the poor, the vulnerable and the marginalized segments of the society who are the most impacted by catastrophic health challenges. We have also been collaborating with some charitable organizations in the United States to develop plans that will positively impact the lives of chronic health sufferers in Nigeria by transferring medical technology to the country to help address the scourge of chronic liver and kidney diseases.
We have been in the forefront of strengthening organizational capacity in the areas of preventive services, early detection and prompt medical intervention through collaboration with state Ministries of Health and other strategic stakeholders including the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), the Nigerian Association of Nephrology, the Endocrine and Metabolism Society of Nigeria (EMSON) and local hospitals and clinics.
Diverse Funding Sources
At Handover Heals Foundation, we leverage resources from diverse funding sources to establish state-of-the-art dialysis centers. We collaborate with other US-based charitable organizations interested in impacting the lives of those suffering from CKD. We also have a few chosen state governments in the country to address the renal care needs of the poor and vulnerable.
